Project 2 - Reflection

When I first started Project II I had a completely different topic then I do now. Originally, I planned to write about the art program at Florida State University. However, I could not find enough sources about art school on the database. I then decided to switch my topic to something completely different being, Florida State University’s College of Medicine. I easily found my ten sources and wrote my annotated bibliography. The hardest part about this project was writing the actual research paper. I struggled with understanding what a genre really is. I ended up rewriting this paper a total of three times with the help of my professor, classmates and the Reading Writing Center. Sadly, I will probably have to rewrite it a fourth time to get a better grade. I think that I chose a bad topic because when talking about the specific genres I needed to provide clear example of ones that the medical students at Florida State University use. Due to the fact that I am not currently enrolled in Florida State University’s College of Medicine, I have no access to the actual genres that they use. Although, I did get a lot of useful information from my interview with medical student, Jason Walden, I need to use more than one source. Overall, this one was of the most difficult papers to write but I think it really helped me to understand the meaning of a genre.
